We are seeking highly motivated students to work up to 19 hours/week in the University Support Services QA/Release Management group within the University Information Technology department. Work duties will include quality assurance testing, test automation scripting/development, SDLC and Agile process support and IT project coordination.
Students at this level will do their work under the direction of more experienced UIT-USS staff members. This position provides IT Quality Assurance support to the general university community for mission critical application services.

University Information Technology, the central IT service provider for campus, reports to the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for many of the University of Utah’s most critical common IT resources including the campus network; the Campus Information Services (CIS) portal; UMail, telephone, and online collaboration services; high performance and research computing; information security; teaching and learning technologies; software licensing; and a host of other systems and applications. The incumbent will work on various technical activities such as troubleshooting issues, writing test plans and developing test scripts, creating, maintaining and running automated tests on various University systems and applications, coordinating project work, developing and maintain documentation for various IT processes and procedures.
Candidate must be a current University of Utah student.
Basic computer skills, excellent written and verbal communications, superior customer service skills, and have a high level of interest and initiative in learning new technologies.
Successful candidate must be a hard worker, have a positive attitude and focus on solving issues. Preference will be given to students with some technical coursework and/or experience with scripting/programming. A plus is any knowledge of or experience with PTF (PeopleSoft Testing Framework), Oracle, Selenium, Cucumber, SQL and/or other programming languages such as Java, C or HTML.
