Central Service (Sterilization and Processing) Technician at Marshfield Clinic has specific responsibilities for those phases of the supply process, collection and distribution functions, for services to Clinic departments and to the ASC. The Technician has the direct responsibility of contributing to the quality of patient care in the clinic through strict quality assurance and efficient practices of decontaminating surgical equipment and instruments through proper cleaning, inspecting, maintaining, assembling, packaging and monitoring sterilization of instruments and supplies. A Technician teaches students and staff and serves as a resource to other departments for quality assurance measures.

Education (Education qualifications must be from a school whose accreditation is recognized by Marshfield Clinic Health System.)
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred/Optional Experience: CS experience preferred.
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position, which must be maintained in good standing:
Minimum Required: Central Service Technician certification awarded by International Association of Healthcare Center Services Material Management Sterile Processing and Distribution (IAHCSMM SPD) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or military equivalency within two years of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) awarded by American Heart Association or the American Red Cross within three months of hire.
