We are seeking a Legal Assistant to work closely with the attorneys, paralegals, and the business and legal professionals of the Labor & Employment Group in order to assist with various aspects of the Group's Immigration work, and to provide support for other projects and matters.
Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys and legal professionals in connection with all aspects of Immigration case management.
- Assist attorneys/paralegals/other legal professionals preparing, proofreading, revising and finalizing legal documents.
- Maintain confidential information, files, records, legal documents and reports.
- Submit intake and conflicts checks and process time entry.
- Maintain attorneys' calendars, schedule travel & expense reimbursement, appointments, meetings and conferences.
- Time entry, engagement letters, opening new matters, paying invoices and filing fees, expense reimbursements, maintain attorney CLE records and filing immigration applications.
- Assist in file preparation (H-1B approval letters and withdrawal requests, PERM recruitment, PERM applications, etc.);
- Assist with preparation of petitions/applications under supervision of paralegal; and
- Administer the case management system database (updating records, uploading documents, processing notices and running reports).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-5 years of labor/Immigration law experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong technology skills and experience with Microsoft Office/Outlook/Adobe Professional and willingness to learn additional programs.
- Highly motivated and a self-starter.
- High level of attention to detail with excellent grammar and spelling skills.
- Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
- Skilled with use of electronic document management systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
