Job Summary: Manages the Human Resource Function of all Stearns Companies, Dick?s Auto Salvage, ED?s 24-hour Service and Dick?s Towing Services facilities and personnel.
The primary responsibilities: Manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures, and programs. Carries out responsibilities in departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, safety and employment.

Employee orientation, development and documentation
Interview employees, customers, or to collect information
Investigate industrial or transportation accidents
Liaise between departments or other groups to improve function or communication
Maintain knowledge of current developments in area of expertise
Maintain personnel records
Maintain Driver Files and Compliance with DOT regulations
Manage Human Resources activities
Advise sales or lease agreements for products or services
Administer department budget
Prepare reports related to compliance matters
Recommend organizational policy development and documentation
Recruiting and staffing logistics
Represent the organization in community events
Development and supervision of the Human Resources department
Coach hiring managers and department to develop their human resources.
Provide and conduct open-door environment
Investigate all Title 7 matters
Direct/support department team members with goals, objectives, developmental requirements, introductory period and annual reviews.
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Minimum of a Bachelor?s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development or equivalent.
3 to 5 plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
Preferred PHR, but not required
Experience in Transportation Industry preferred but not required
Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Effective oral and written communication
A strong understanding of employment laws and practices
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and experience with various HRIS.
Able to analyze written documentation.
