Job Description:
Wittenberg University is seeking a Coordinator of Alumni & Lifelong Engagement to join the Office of Advancement & Alumni Relations. The Coordinator is responsible for developing and supporting the strategic vision of the Student Alumni Association, supporting and enhancing the Senior Class Gift tradition, stewarding and guiding young alumni donors to remain connected to Wittenberg, supporting the execution of parts of Wittenberg's reunion program, and supporting the execution of annual event programs such as the Alumni Achievement Awards, Athletic Hall of Honor, and Athletics Champions Nights. The Coordinator will be responsible for the direct management of student-led SAA, student-led Senior Class Giving tradition, and some volunteer-led reunion committees. This includes, but is not limited to, planning and implementing programs and event and organizing communication to alumni.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Cultivate relationships with, train, and retain a network of students to lead the Student Alumni Association in engaging the student body with the Alumni Association and Advancement Division initiatives.
Support the Senior Class president in developing and promoting Life after Wittenberg events such as 100 days 'til Graduation, Senior Wine & Cheese, and Senior Send-Off to classmates.
Cultivate relationships with, support and retain members of various alumni committees in engaging their classmates in participating in reunion activities and giving.
Participate in staff committees to enhance and execute annual events such as Alumni Achievement Awards, Hall of Honor, Champions Night, and Coaches Circle.
Support the vision of young alumni donor retention by executing first-time donor thank-you calls/emails that reinforce the commitment to the Benjamin-Prince Society and offers opportunity for deeper connection to Wittenberg.
Serve as a positive member of the Advancement staff, contributing toward achievement of goals related to Alumni & Lifelong Engagement and alumni participation.
Develop skills in the latest technology (Salesforce, JotForm, Constant Contact).
Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree is required.
1 to 3 years of related experience is required. Three or more years of experience working in alumni relations, advancement, volunteer engagement, special events, and meeting planning are preferred.
Exhibited ability to interact comfortably, tactfully, and effectively with donors, volunteers, internal constituencies, and to work with and represent high-profile individuals.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; proficiency using databases.
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours. Peak event periods require additional hours, including evenings and weekends.
Must be able to assist with event set-up/tear-down including moving equipment.
A valid driver's license with no restriction of driving privileges is required.
