What does this role entail?

Provide guidance and support for the on-time and on-budget completion of assigned capital projects by managing all activities related to planning, design, budgeting, regulatory approvals, construction, quality, safety compliance, commissioning, close-out, turnover throughout the project

Contributing to the Y way; building relationships internally and externally leading to the advancement in the Association’s mission

Experience managing multiple concurrent projects on active facilities to ensure minimal disruption to operations staff and members

Proven fiscal management skills, knowledgeable of project costs, contingent liabilities and potential savings opportunities

Ability to delve into a conceptual project and ask all of the appropriate questions to effectively identify the full scope, implications and risks

Lead the RFP and vendor selection process and help negotiate contracts/change orders between the YMCA of San Diego County and designers, contractors and vendors

What do I need to bring do the table?

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field

10 years of progressive experience and responsibility in Capital Project Management (commercial, multi-family, residential)

In-depth knowledge of design and construction principals and experience leading multiple project teams

Experience serving as an Owner’s Representative on new construction and multi-phase renovation projects

Preferred industry related certifications: DBIA, PMP, CCM, LEED-AP, WELL AP, FMP, OSHA 10 or 30 Hour

CPR and First Aid certified upon hire and must be from one of the following:

American Red Cross

American Heart Association

American Safety & Health Institute
