Pay Range: $55k-$75k based on experience
Operations Analyst: Responsible for analyzing and administering to the corporate financial system and operational data. This role entails leading the budget process, creating and monitoring business analytics, custom financial reporting and data interfaces, agency sales reporting, and performing operational accounting variance analysis. This role will identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting and lead in process improvement implementation within the accounting department.
Operations Accountant: Perform certain month-end closing duties, journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations. Participate in variance analysis and financial statement integrity reviews.
Perform various operational data management and integration roles for the Accounting Department; serve as Accounting’s chief technical resource.
Provide project management with Accounting and related projects to include planning, resource allocation, timeline, testing, and implementation.
Responsible for the daily processing and analysis of the Macola data base.
Manage the company’s annual budget process entailing 50 cost centers, distributing worksheets, compiling data, distributing budgets and uploading into Macola ES.
Administer to Macola general ledger, financial reporting and cost accounting setup to provide useful and efficient financial and operational reporting.
Maintain and update financial departmental analytics within the Pulse reporting system.
Complete financial accounting of: e-commerce, Alphapointe Foundation and other monthly entries as needed.
Complete account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts as needed.
Maintain accounting records for ecommerce department.
Compile Alphapointe Foundation monthly statements.
Prepare appropriate journal entries to attain financial reporting accuracy and integrity.
Collaborate with team members to address areas of each job function where improvements could be made, suggest improvements and facilitate implementation.
Evaluate team member’s suggestions and address for productivity benefits to the department to reduce overtime and improve time-savings.
Responsible for National Industries for the Blind reporting and related compliance reporting requirements as needed.
Prepares grant financial reporting and interim financial report in conjunction with the Fund Development department and the Learning Center.
Prepares governmental financial reporting requirements as needed by the Learning Center and Office Products Department, i.e. Clay, State of Kansas and DESE.
Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
Other assignments and special projects as directed by the Controller.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution with a major in Accounting or Finance or IT/Accounting is required.
1+Year experience with a robust ERP system, specific to a general ledger financial reporting module.
Prior experience as a financial analyst or cost accountant in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
Significant experience with MS Excel, to include high competence with VLOOKUP, pivot tables, @if formulas and data imports/exports, primarily within the field of financial reporting.
Prior experience with budgeting and/or financial forecasting.
