General Summary:
Grade 9 & 11: Under the direction of the relationship manager in the appropriate business area, provide support to business support teams and users through research and development of technology solutions that enable the user community to manage their business more effectively.

Grade 12: Under the direction of the relationship manager in the appropriate business area, provide support to the business support teams and users through research and development of technology solutions that enable the user community to manage their business more effectively. Design, develop, enhance, implement and provide support for application software, as well as coach, train and mentor others.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Grade 9 -

Work directly with the user community, under the guidance of senior analysts, to develop systems enhancements and resolve production problems.
Work with users and team members to review and clarify user requests including impact analysis.
Adhere to configuration management policies and procedures for implementing solutions into production including preparation of project plan, identification of configuration items, user sign off to production, and incident resolution.
Document specifications, requirements, user manuals, procedures, and other relevant information.
Provide test scripts and follow full testing methodology through development and implementation to ensure that quality goals are met.
Provide training for users on functionality of new systems and enhancement in releases of existing systems.
Monitor and report on the status of ITS services to the user community.
Monitor trends and new developments in technology; recommend appropriate new technology and enhancements for business applications under the guidance of senior analysts.
Provide status reports in accordance with defined standards.
Develop and maintain system documentation in accordance with defined standards.

Grade 11 -

Work directly with the user community to develop system enhancements and resolve production problems. Confer with users to determine functional requirements and enhancements. Present designs to user management and staff.
Evaluate new systems and technologies that address specifications supplied by users and ITS business production systems support groups.
Work closely with technical architect to ensure systems conform to current environment structures and are compatible with future technical architecture direction.
Review user specifications with all involved parties to ensure proper evaluations are conducted and recommendations are made to users that satisfy business and technical requirements.
Work with team members and user community to establish priorities on projects.
Remain current on developments in the industries, and make recommendations on new technologies to users where appropriate.
Provide project leadership and manage implementation of new technologies into systems structure such as operating systems, telecommunications and network development, and non-traditional applications.
Adhere to change management policies and procedures for implementing solutions into production, including testing in appropriate environments, user sign off to production and ticket closing.
Document specifications, requirements, user manuals, procedures and other relevant information.
Provide training for users on functionality of new systems and enhancements in releases of existing systems.
Provide test scripts and follow testing methodology through development and implementation to ensure that quality goals are met.
Follow established procedures for hardware and software evaluation, acceptance testing, and vendor interface.
Provide status reports in accordance with defined standards.

Grade 12 –

Work with users to develop systems enhancements and resolve production problems. Confer with users to determine functional requirements and enhancements. Present designs to user management and staff.
Provide technology solutions that adhere to defined standards. Add to and enhance standards as appropriate. Coach and train others on standards.
Work with users to set priorities; review and clarify user requests, document the request with user, including writing requirements and system design documents. Provide assistance to junior analysts with their specification gathering efforts.
Provide project leadership and manage implementation of new technologies into systems structure, such as operating systems, telecommunications and network development and non-traditional applications. Verify recommended solution meets user's needs and works logically before placing into production. Develop test plans and data, run functional verification tests, review test results with user, and obtain user approval.
Work closely with technical architect to ensure systems conform to current environment structures and are compatible with future technical architecture direction.
Perform design and code reviews as appropriate.
Interpret business rules and calculations within current systems, providing analysts with detail on what the code is doing.
Design, code and test interfaces between enterprise applications
Document specifications, procedures, and other relevant information.
Mentor junior-level business systems analysts.
Monitor and report the status of ITS services to the user community.
Monitor trends and new developments in technology; recommend appropriate new technology and enhancements for business applications: Lead the business process redesign and documentation needed for new technology. Provide leadership to junior analysts in the area of research.
Assist staff in understanding the requirements for enhancements.
Provide status reports in accordance with defined standards.

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Grade 9 -

Bachelor's degree in an information systems discipline and three years experience in relevant business applications preferred; a combination of relevant college-level course work and a minimum of five or more years relevant analysis and programming experience may substitute for the degree.
Knowledge of standard business operations desired.
Experience supporting one or more low or moderately complex business processes preferred.
Ability to collaborate extremely well with cross-functional teams and business partners.
Experience gathering requirements, conducting business analysis, writing business specifications, developing test plans and data, and verification of results required.
Experience in the use of client-server applications, web-based applications, cloud computing technology and personal computer systems architecture required.
Understanding of relational databases and SQL query tools skills preferred.
Ability to effectively maintain sensitive and confidential information with associates at all levels.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to function under close deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent work record of attendance and punctuality; occasional evening, weekend and non-regular work hours required.

Grade 11 –

Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related discipline and at least five years experience in business area preferred. College-level course work and eight or more years relevant analysis and programming experience may substitute for the degree.
Experience supporting one or more moderately complex business processes.
Ability to collaborate extremely well with cross-functional teams and business partners.
Understanding of relevant areas of business and pension industry preferred.
Extensive knowledge of client-server applications, web-based applications, cloud computing technology and personal computer systems architecture required.
Experience gathering requirements, conducting business analysis, writing business specifications, developing test plans and data, testing and verification of results required.
Experience with relational databases and SQL query tools skills preferred.
Ability to effectively maintain sensitive and confidential information with associates at all levels.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to function under close deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent work record of attendance and punctuality; occasional evening, weekend and non-regular work hours required.

Grade 12 –

Bachelor's degree in an information systems or related discipline; Master’s Degree and certifications preferred; 10 years of relevant IT-related experience required; a combination of relevant college-level course work and fifteen or more years relevant analysis and programming experience may substitute for the degree.
Experience supporting one or more highly complex business processes.
Ability to collaborate extremely well with cross-functional teams and business partners.
Understanding of relevant areas of business and pension industry preferred; ERP experience required.
Experience with three or more of the following types of software: collaboration, data visualization, process automation; project management; and automated testing.
Experience with relational databases and SQL query tools skills required. Experience with Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, MS SharePoint, MS Flow, and MS PowerBI and similar tools preferred.
Experience gathering requirements, conducting business analysis, and writing business specifications required
Experience in developing test plans and data, testing and verification of results required.
Experience in the use of client/server, browser platforms, cloud computing technology and personal computer systems architecture required.
Project lead experience required.
