Posting Summary
The Center for Health, Identity, Behavior and Prevention Studies (CHIBPS) at the School of Public Health is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant to provide administrative and technical support on multiple research studies involving research subjects, students, interns, volunteers, and faculty. This position supports the School of Public Health plan for urban public health research with sexual minorities and marginalized, underserved populations in Newark, NJ.

Assists the Director with the development of new and existing programs and research studies.
Works with senior investigators to prepare manuscripts, grant proposals, and research reports.
Supports the writing and coordination of time-sensitive applications relevant to the Center.
Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data.
Provides administrative support and office management.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated skills in academic research, research coordination and time management.
Must possess strong communication and written skills.
Must demonstrate ability to work with diverse individuals and a wide variety of professionals.
Must be able to coordinate and manage multiple research projects, activities and staff members.
Strong data management and analytical skills required.
Must show commitment to inclusion, health equity and social justice.
Must have knowledge of Microsoft office suite applications.
Must have knowledge of SPSS and SAS.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in research concerning the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) community and other marginalized populations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
Special Conditions
This position is 100% grant-funded and located in Newark, NJ.
Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle and be willing to travel to research sites in New York and New Jersey.
