Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Rail Bridge Engineer will be applying structural engineering and detailing techniques in railroad structures design. The typical types of projects include rail bridge analysis and design. Daily activities include selecting standard bridge engineering/design procedures, developing structural details using specialized software such as Microstation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design, and performing structural load calculations as well as assisting with geometric layout and quantity development. You will also review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs. Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.

5+ years’ experience designing Rail Bridges and other transportation projects. PE Required (NY/NJ Preferred).

Knowledge of Structural Design Codes and Industry Practices (AREMA Knowledge required).
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Microstation, AutoCAD.
Excellent communication skills and working in a team environment.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must. Candidates who reside locally in the Metro NY area are preferred.
