SENIOR PERFORMANCE ANALYST
DEPARTMENT OF POLICE
Office of Constitutional Policing & Reform

Under general supervision, performs fully functional professional analysis of programs and operations in City departments and makes recommendations to improve their effectiveness, and performs related duties as required
Works collaboratively and independently as part of multiple teams undertaking internal audits and compliance reviews designed to monitor and assess reform compliance, including but not limited to those related to the consent decree and the Chicago Police Department (CPD) strategic plan (e.g., use of force, training, community policing, data/reporting)
Contributes to assignments including internal audits, narrative reports, reviews of reform efforts, and other strategic efforts to gauge compliance levels
Conducts and thoroughly documents audit work including interviews, document review, and both qualitative and quantitative data analyses before drafting findings and potential recommendations for team leadership
Contributes to drafting of audit plans that identify all actions, resources, and deliverables required to complete reviews of compliance with consent decree requirements, CPD strategic plan, and other reform initiatives within desired timelines
Maintains work plans and schedules to ensure that projects adhere to individual milestones and deliverables associated with reform initiatives
Communicates details of status and maintenance of reform and strategy implementation to team leadership and prepares project status, recommendations, and ad hoc reports

THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of work experience in program auditing or operations analysis, OR
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree plus two (2) years of work experience in program auditing or operations analysis

This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a skills assessment as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
Previous experience contributing to performance reviews and/or audits
Previous experience interpreting and analyzing data
Proficiency working with statistic software (e.g. SQL or other software)
Proficiency working with Microsoft Excel
VETERANS PREFERENCE NOTE: The City of Chicago offers Veterans Preference for both current, active military personnel AND military personnel who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received an honorable or general discharge. Eligible candidates must have at least six months of active duty documents. Failure to answer the question and attach the required documentation will result in you not being considered for the Veterans Preference.
Evaluation: Your initial evaluation will be based on information provided on the application form and documents submitted with the application. Applications must be submitted by the individual applicant. No second party applicants will be accepted.
Residency Requirement: All employees of the City of Chicago must be actual residents of the City as outlined in 2-152-050 of the City of Chicago Municipal Code. Proof of residency will be required.
