The purpose of the job is to manage, optimize, and be responsible for all aspects of Gatan's IT world, including managing all system applications, internally developed databases, network infrastructure, security, desktop support and hardware, ensuring that they align with Gatan's business objectives. The position is located at our Warrendale, PA facility but also has direct responsibility for our Pleasanton, CA, site and indirect responsibility for coordination between our foreign subsidiary sites. Systems currently used at Gatan include Made2Manage, Agile, Salesforce.com (SFDC), Prophix, Pivotal, and Sharepoint.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, directs, and manages the daily operations of the IT department.
Responsible for the overall planning and management of the company’s information technology mission, goals, and priorities, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the business and the priorities of the Company.
Recruit, manage, and develop an outstanding team of IT professionals at multiple locations.
Evaluates new information systems, products, and services and suggests changes to existing products or services to better aid the end user and support the business.
Manages the implementation and maintenance of all IT hardware and office equipment, including laptops, desktops, tablets, servers, printers, etc.
Design and implement an IT infrastructure to provide for efficient and reliable communications and data sharing between all sites.
Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, and standards.
Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures, including meeting all Corporate standards and successful completion of Sarbanes-Oxley controls and audits.
Manage hardware and software vendor relationships, including communication contracts.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
S. Degree in Information Systems.
Minimum of 5 years of overall IT experience, with at least 3 years in a strategic leadership capacity.
Experience with manufacturing systems is strongly preferred.
Must be able to work independently and manage multiple demands and priorities.
Must possess a high degree of diplomacy, judgment and the ability to deal with and influence persons in all types of positions.
Must have demonstrable experience developing IT professionals of varying levels.
Must be willing to become involved in the details of the various projects the IT staff undertakes as needed.
Domestic and international travel required.
