About this role:
Be an essential member of one of UPS’s most significant transformation efforts! The IT Human Capital Management team, part of the HR Transformation program, is looking for a Workday Data Conversion Lead to assist with implementing technologies that will enable and shape our future HR business processes and operating model. This candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to understand and convey technical/functional solutions with developers & users.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate actively as the Data Conversion lead on the project
Work with functional, integration and vendor teams to establish data conversion strategy and approach
Serve as the knowledge source for converting data from legacy systems into Workday Cloud HCM
Support project team in mapping legacy data, identifying data quality issues and overall responsibility over conversion activates on the project
Create ETL scripts to transform and load data in preparation to load to Workday
Support data load activity into Workday using Workday provided loading tools
Support the validation of data loaded into Workday, data cleansing and ability to write validation scripts
Provide key communication to IT and Business leadership
Support timely identification and escalation of risks and development of alternative technical and functional approaches when necessary
Support the identification of process improvements and changes to our methodology based on project experience
Provide leadership oversight to junior team members

Minimum Qualifications:
Data conversion leadership experience within the technical or functional workstreams for 2 or more Workday HCM implementations
Minimum 6 years of overall HCM experience
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and the interpersonal skills needed quickly to establish relationships of trust and collaboration
Knowledge and experience with database products, such as SQL Server or Oracle, entity relationships, SQL and Programming
Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience with tools such as Excel and Access used to translate information and requirements into documentation and solution design
Demonstrated experience with Excel, Visio, MS Project (or equivalent) and PowerPoint
Desire and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, concepts, and methodologies
Enthusiastic about data accuracy and completeness, with a greater attention to detail
Prior experience managing a development team

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field of study or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a Workday data conversion role using iLoads, EIBs, Customer Central or other Workday data conversion tools
