Description: Responsible for the design, modeling, development and testing of a machine, structure or system. Develops functional requirements. Understands and applies standard engineering principles. Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates. Designs and tests components, and integrates components to produce final product. Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.
Provide technical guidance and review directly to customers, sales staff, and marketing staff; examine potential applications and recommend solutions. Develop knowledge and expertise in specific technical areas and applying that expertise to maximize customer benefit from conservation products. Develop rapid but rigorous analytical models based upon good engineering practice and the methodological direction of other Energy Efficiency Engineers This position will focus on energy efficient lighting. BSME, BSEE or related engineering degree from an ABET accredited curriculum required.
1 year experience with energy conservation preferred in one or more of the following: energy engineering consulting, HVAC, lighting, compressed air, energy efficient building construction, motors, controls, industrial processing, recommissioning, boilers, and furnaces. EIT Certification preferred.
Must have expertise with Microsoft Excel and engineering fundamentals. Previous experience with energy efficiency savings calculations would also be great.
