Laulima Government Solutions is looking for a qualified Epidemiologist/Biostatistician I to support the development of data records for Veterans who were potentially exposed to ionizing radiation, chemicals and toxic agents, or other hazards during active duty military service. The availability of these data would enable VHA to conduct epidemiologic studies of diseases among Veterans and to assess the short- and long-term effects of exposure to military-related environmental and occupational hazards.
Studies/Cohorts supported may include:
Agent Orange Registry
Gulf War Registry
Airborne Hazards and Open Pit Registry
Operation Tomodachi Registry
Aviation Fuels Cohort (including F-100 pilots exposed to cockpit oil mists)
Chemical Warfare Agents Cohort from OIF & OND
Possess knowledge in designated field or discipline.
Ability to conduct multiple organizational assessments of challenges using specialized skills and knowledge.
Ability to contribute to the execution of project or task plan and helps assess the impact of industry trends, policy, or standard methodologies.
PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics and/or Survey Methods.
Advanced education in Public Health, Biostatistics, Statistics, or Health Sciences, such as Master’s in Public Health, Masters of Science, or PhD.
A minimum of 10 years of post-dissertation experience using advanced statistical methods with relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Experience in areas including research involving survey sampling design; data collection and management; techniques for maximizing response rates; programming; statistical analysis; and report writing.
A favorable government agency background check will be needed to qualify for the position.
