Job Summary:
UChicago STEM Education is planning revisions to the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project’s PreK to Grade 6 program. The Curriculum Developer will revise existing lessons and activities and develop new activities and lessons as required.

Responsibilities:
The Curriculum Developer will research, design, and develop revisions to the program, based on feedback from teachers and others, changing requirements in state or national standards documents, and market demands identified by the program’s publisher.
Develop lessons and professional development materials.
Develop programs, curricula, lesson plans and assessment tools.
Act as an advocate for the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project’s PreK to Grade 6 program.
Conduct literature reviews and draft policy papers.

Competencies:
Experience developing curriculum that is educative for students and teachers alike.
Ability to compile reports, measure and track outcomes, and analyze data.
Experience communicating technical research findings to variety of audiences.
Advanced knowledge of course subject matter.
Additional Requirements

Education, Experience or Certifications:
Education:
Advanced degree in elementary education, mathematics, or a related field required.
Doctorate in elementary education, mathematics, or a related field preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of mathematics curriculum development or related experience required.

Technical Knowledge or Skills:
Dynamic, hard-working, and collaborative individual.
Prepared to lead components of the revisions work intellectually.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage stressful situations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions:
Able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
