REMOTE Software Application Engineer (.NET) (Job Number:439898)
Candidate will perform software engineering in support of the Environmental Information Management Systems (EIMS). Duties will consist of developing web- based and stand-alone applications using Visual Studio.Net. He/she will also participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including gathering and analyzing requirements, designing mockups and developing rapid prototypes designs and full development. He/she will be responsible for documenting all work and adhering to USN/DoD development practices. Some travel (5- 10%) may also be required.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field and five plus (5+) years of experience in the required skills listed below OR
Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution in Software Development / Web Development /Web Design, or a related field with eight plus (8+) years of experience in the required skills listed below.
Strong web development experience with VB.Net/C#, .Net Framework 2.0/3.5/4.0/4.5.
Candidate must also have proven ability to work with a team of software engineers in the specification, design, technology, and operational implementation of software solutions.
Candidate must have the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
Must have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with SQL Developer or similar Database tool to interact with Oracle 11g/12c.
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio .Net
CI (Continuous Integration) - TeamCity / Stash
Experience with teleworking and communicating with remote team members
Experience with Navy/DoD networks
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
