Job Description

Receives and handles calls from customers who have received collection letters and arranges terms of payment or records/resolves disputes while assisting to collect undisputed balances.
Works with manager or senior staff members on more complex issues in order to establish customer payment plans.
Contributes to decisions if/when to disconnect customer services for non-payment, and hold future orders until accounts are paid to current.
Collaborates with the customer, sales, and other internal departments to resolve routine billing related issues, such as any billing inquiry, dispute and/or collection issue within the customer's established service level agreements.
Engages other teams as necessary in order to bring disputes to resolution by submitting rate information or order requests for billing correction within established parameters.
Researches and resolves customer disputes relating to issues such as incorrect rates, tax/surcharge and disconnect issues.
Consults with managers or senior staff members on non-routine issues. Has authority to approve customer credits up to $5,000.
Provides status updates to billing management for past due balances, aging tickets and other reports as requested.


Associates degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
3-5 years related experience in specific area or equivalent.
