We are seeking a proactive and skilled Cybersecurity Support Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing technical support to users while ensuring the security and integrity of our IT systems. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of IT support expertise and cybersecurity knowledge, enabling them to effectively troubleshoot technical issues and safeguard our network and data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide high-quality technical assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Deliver solutions and support in a timely and efficient manner.
- Cybersecurity Monitoring: Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, including analyzing potential threats and vulnerabilities. Implement and manage security measures to protect sensitive data and systems.
- Incident Management: Document, track, and manage IT and cybersecurity incidents, ensuring accurate records and follow-up. Provide detailed reports on issues, resolutions, and security incidents.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on workstations, servers, and network devices to ensure optimal performance and security. Apply patches, updates, and security configurations as needed.
- Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT support processes, cybersecurity protocols, and user guides. Assist in training users on best practices for IT security and support.
- Asset Management: Assist with the inventory, deployment, and decommissioning of IT assets, ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to address and resolve technical and security challenges. Provide support for special projects and initiatives related to IT and cybersecurity.
Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
- Cybersecurity Knowledge: Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat detection, risk management, and data protection. Familiarity with security tools and best practices is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users effectively.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Desktop Operating Systems (including Windows 10) and familiarity with Windows Server Operating Systems. Experience with other operating systems and IT support tools is a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Degree or Technical Certificate in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, with a demonstrated understanding of cybersecurity practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent are advantageous.
