Job Summary:
Accurately operates the cash register for collection of cash and charges on sold goods. Accuracy and speed are essential. Must reconcile/record monies, resolve performance variances, generate reports, and trouble shoot register problems. Maintains a clean, orderly, and well stocked work station. Performs sanitation duties throughout the retail food court, serves at steam table and provides customer service from the grill location. Refers complaints and issues to Supervisor for resolution. Assures a hospitable environment for staff and visitors and assists those with disabilities. Assists with maintenance of front-of-the-house by stocking supplies, cleaning spills, removing garbage and performing other duties as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while begin sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Complete other assignements as directed by supervisors.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrate daily operation of registers with collection of cash and charges.
- Demonstrate counting down of monies before each shift and after each shift.
- Demonstrate the speed and accuracy of service to customers.
- Demonstrate customer service by communicating and interacting with all customers in a friendly matter.
- Demonstrate proper use and cleaning of all equipment for front of house operations. Coffee machine, tea machine, cookie oven, etc.
- Demonstrate the setup and appearance of salad bar each day for each meal.
- Demonstrate setup and serving at all stations.
- Demonstrate proper procedure for rotating and dating of food items.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong background in math helpful.
Work Experience:
Work experience of 1 year preferred. On the job training provided
Mental Demands:
Ability to accurately perform repetitive tasks under time pressures. Must deal with customers in a friendly and helpful manner even when customers are difficult to deal with.
