Are you an experienced Data Professional in search of an opportunity to collaborate with team members to help lead enterprise-wide data governance activities happening across the business and technology partners?
We have an exciting Enterprise Data Governance Team Lead opportunity for you to join our innovative Enterprise Data Governance team. You will play an integral part in distributing and enforcing data governance programs including Metadata, Data Quality, and Master Data Management, in partnership with the technical resources within the Data and Architecture team. You will help lead the network of Data Stewards across the firm responsible for engaging in data governance activities, such as making data-related decisions, fixing data quality defects, and establishing business terms and definitions.
Understanding and executing the existing data governance operating model, using technology and data governance tools to automate data governance, and identifying key opportunities to help solve business problems will be the initial expectations. You will influence both business and IT partners, articulate data concepts to business communities, and develop innovative data solutions will be keys to success.
Execute the organization’s data governance operating model and collaborate with various American Century business and technical teams to implement enterprise data policies and standards for the organization
Be responsible for the Data Governance team backlog and work day-to-day with the team to lead the delivery and execution of prioritized features and story backlogs.
Monitor progress of Data Domain teams with respect to the rollout of data governance practices and provide education, training, and support as needed
Act as a Collibra administrator and help train domain teams and consumers on the platform. Drive adoption of, and guide proper use of, features and functionality available within the tool.
Participate in the development and implementation of enterprise metadata standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure quality metadata and support for ongoing data governance
Mature the Data Governance program and drive data ownership into the business
Develop, lead and implement plans that will roll out the Data Governance program to the federated domain teams
Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting preferred) and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience in related field
Demonstrated effectiveness working in a dynamic and high-paced environment
3 or more years of confirmed experience working on a team engaged in data governance, data management, or data operations
Experience with data governance, metadata, data mapping, and data lineage tools, such as Collibra, Informatica, IBM IGC, etc.
Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to connect with individuals at all levels of the organization in both verbal and written form.
Ability to approach and solve problems in an analytical and methodical manner
Comfortable with working in an agile work environment
Ability to be proactive and collaborative in ambiguous situations
Demonstrable experience consulting on Enterprise Data Management initiatives and working on Data led initiatives
Experience with/knowledge of modern SaaS based platforms, i.e. Reltio, Tibco, Stibo, Semarchy, Collibra, Infogix, Alation or similiar platforms
5+ years of experience in the asset management industry, with strong domain knowledge of data management technology and operations.
Experience working with cloud technologies
Experience in policy and standards development and maintenance
Finance, Accounting or related education preferred
