Position Summary

The Document Control Specialist I (DCS I) is responsible for supporting the overall functions of the Audit team by collecting, filing and organizing documents.

Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

Opens, sorts and validates inbound mail, dating and marking items received in the AVRS system; Files in receive date order; retrieves and ships paper to DMV after audit is complete; Image audited documents, ensuring all copies are legible and retrievable by both internal staff and customers
Supports audit team by locating and pulling documents both pre and post-audit
Uses document management system to research items as needed
Sorts and scans documents into the AVRS system in preparation to send originals to DMV
Prepares shipments and document contents, recording tracking information
Uses document management system to research items as needed
Understands and adheres to all BPA policies and procedures at all times
Document Management – Open inbound mail, sort and mark items as received

Qualifications & Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
No prior experience required

Accuracy and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic data entry skills (Windows & IOS environments)

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES & Qualifications

Prior knowledge of California vehicle registration processes and requirements, gained from previous work at dealership, registration service or DMV field office
