ClearBridge Investments is looking for a Technology Application Development Lead to join their New York based Technology team. This individual will participate in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications for internal company use. This position will report directly to the Head of the Applications Development & Support team.
Key Responsibilities Include, but not Limited to:
Manage the day-to-day workload of the Development Team, ensuring that work is prioritized, allocated and completed within defined parameters.
Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans
Actively drive improvements and efficiencies within the team, solidifying a robust Agile Development methodology and other best practice processes
Plan, coordinate and schedule Sprints & Releases for all Development & Maintenance tasks the entire Applications Development & Support team engages on.
Champion the introduction and use of Cloud technologies and services
Evaluate the use of existing tools within development and make recommendations aimed at increasing efficiency
Liaise with the Head of the Applications Development & Support to ensure that new team practices are effectively adopted and that the team work well together
Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
University degree in a Technology discipline preferred
Minimum of five years of experience leading an applications development team
Knowledge of financial systems and the investment lifecycle a key factor for consideration
Ability to maintain high standards of software quality by establishing good practices and habits
Experience with enterprise integration frameworks and ESB’s (e.g. JBoss Fuse, Talend, WSO2)
Experience developing cloud native applications in Azure a big plus
5+ years of experience developing applications in Java
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Strong leadership skills including the ability to identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
