The Department of Public Health's Tewksbury Hospital operates a 370 bed Joint Commission accredited hospital. Approximately 220 complex chronic medical adult patients reside on seven (7) inpatient units. A full range of ancillary services is available at the site, including 24/7 nursing, medicine, and psychiatry as well as clinical laboratory, psychology, radiology, respiratory care, speech pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, clinical dieticians, clinical social workers and pharmacy, and on-site dialysis clinic.
General Summary of RN I Duties:
Provides direct care to patients between 20 - 100+ years of age with chronic medical problems, with acute exacerbation at times and with diminished capabilities in ADL’s needing consistent nursing care. Must assess, plan, implement and evaluate the direct and indirect care needs of patients. Provides direction and supervision to other staff such as LPNs, NAs and Clerks.
Base Rate Salary Range reflects 32 hours/week and does not include shift differentials.

Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. *
- Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination. Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.
