This position supports the General Services Administration (GSA) CAMEO program. The Karsun team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement (DM&E) and operation of selected GSA Federal Acquisition IT Systems. All employees must be able to pass a Federal Suitability Check for a position of public trust. The GSA CAMEO program supports the operations of multiple business applications, as well as development of new applications across different technologies. The Karsun software development team is responsible for the software design and implementation of web applications supporting multiple Business Lines within GSA. Successful candidates are modern web development specialists experienced in translating business requirements into software architecture. In addition to strong software development skills, ideal candidates have demonstrated experience in working on an Agile Scrum team. Position location is in Herndon, VA.
Serve as a Scrum Master of scrum teams consisting of software developers, business analysts and other subject matter experts within the to deliver software (tracked as story points) within 3-week sprint cycles.
Organize and lead Quarterly Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Review and Retrospectives, Daily Scrums, and Backlog Grooming sessions
Collaborate with the Product Owners (POs) to facilitate meetings and requirements gathering sessions
Translate high level business requirements into user stories and acceptance test criteria using Agile methodology
Conduct system demos to a large audience, including POs and business stakeholders
Prioritize product backlogs, set work priorities, identify risks and issues and resolve any road blocks.
Measure team performance metrics including efficiency, velocity, capacity and defect density.
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and demonstrate system features to POs and business stakeholders
to track user stories, defects and traceability to produce meaningful reports
Work closely with development and test leads in a acceptance test-driven development environment; participate and coordinate various testing activities.
NOTE : Contingent upon Approved Public Trust Clearance. The candidate need not have an existing clearance. Clearance process can begin once selected.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both in verbal and writing
Served as a Scrum Master role on a large-scale project
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Have experience in requirements gathering and analysis for new application development project
Experience in facilitating requirements sessions with a large audience of business stakeholders (20+)
Negotiate deliverables by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and scrum teams from initial requirements to final implementation
Advance skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Experience with application development methodologies such as Agile including writing Epics and User Stories using Gherkin script
Experience with JIRA, Rally or other agile tools
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous work streams, including projects and program initiatives, and prioritize, manage, and execute effectively with compressed time lines and ambiguous tasking
Ability to work independently, take ownership and complete relatively complex tasks effectively using available resources, as needed, with minimal guidance
Ability to obtain a public trust security clearance (US Citizens)
Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Possess at least two of the following certifications:
SAFe 4.0 Agilest
ICAgile Certified Professional
Business Process Management Professional
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
Experience in Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) approach
Perform the role of a project coordinator
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Information systems, Business Systems, Management Information Systems, IT Management, or other IT degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience
Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees.
