Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree is required. One to three years of experience with extensive public interaction is required. Excellent oral and written communications skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including database management are required. This position requires the ability to utilize electronic communication strategies and must have outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with a diverse community. A demonstrated understanding of post secondary education is required. Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license and driving record which allows applicant to be insurable under Wayne Community College’s auto insurance policy. Bilingual and a National Career Readiness Certificate are preferred.

Position Duties:
The Recruiting Specialist will develop, implement, and assess various recruitment strategies to target diverse students and will assist with creating and editing recruitment resources. The Specialist will oversee college-wide recruitment initiatives that continuously improve the visibility and brand awareness of the college through communications between the College, the community, our educational institutional partners, and other organizations. Duties will include collaborating with faculty and staff to develop recruiting stratiges; maintain information displays at local high schools and key sites around the community; and coordinating New Student Orientation. The Specialist will provide students with information for enrollment and degree programs, and work with Wayne County Public Schools liason to establish and maintain an efficient recruitment travel schedule that maximizes college exposure to prospective students. Recruitment will include electronic communications, mailings, WCC campus tours, open house, special programs, and other recruitment strategies and serve as the face of Wayne Community College at recruiting fairs and other events.
