Maintenance Manager

SunGold Foods in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team!

Salaried position + position will be included in the company bonus program.

Summary: Performs all maintenance by the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform all repair and maintenance for building, machinery, truck, forklift trucks, packaging and production equipment, etc.
  • General Fabrication including; Cutting, Welding, Grinding, Building, Painting.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Operate forklift according to OSHA standards. Use forklift to transport product to work area and raise product to machine.
  • Knowledge in documentation and procedures that meet food safety audits such as SQF and AIB
  • Experience in ordering and maintaining parts inventory to support manufacturing
  • Ability to supervise maintenance to meet all OSHA and other regulatory guidelines
  • Experience with preventative maintenance software programs a plus
  • Basic knowledge of PLC operations and programming
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Act as lead technical advisor to operations and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises approximately 5 employees in the Maintenance Department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees: planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract 2-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement and volume.

Reasoning Skills

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is required to lift, bend, twist, turn, reach and occasionally talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift not usually over 100 pounds, specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
