General Summary of Position
The Stores & Distribution Clerk performs daily tasks to assist with the successful functioning the hospital Thrift Shop. This includes providing customer service to all community members who provide donation(s), the Thrift Shop staff and other visitors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provides quality customer service to all community members and customers. Responds to customers in a friendly and helpful manner. Assists donors with donations to the Thrift Shop, to include providing assistance with lifting, moving, and receiving acceptable donations from donors and their vehicles. Accepts donations and issues receipts for donations in a helpful and appreciative manner. Assists donors with other options for unacceptable items. Responds to inquiries and questions in a friendly manner and customer service manner Provides assistance to Thrift Shop staff and customers within the Thrift Shop, and transporting purchases to their vehicles.

Maintenance and upkeep of Thrift Shop: Is responsible for daily maintenance and upkeep of Thrift Shop, to include following opening and closing instructions. Completes tasks outlined for opening and closing Thrift Shop. Performs closing procedures daily, to include closing, locking and securing the Thrift Shop. Maintains cleanliness of Thrift Shop, including regular sweeping, cleaning, and proper pick up and disposal of trash. Assists Thrift Shop staff with moving boxes, goods, and materials so merchandise can be displayed in an orderly and appealing fashion. Helps to maintain the general upkeep of the Thrift Shop. Responds to any requests for any minor maintenance or upkeep. Reports any maintenance or upkeep needs to Thrift Shop Manager.

Processing of Donations: Under the supervision of the Thrift Shop Manager, processes all donations provided to the Thrift Shop. Sorts all donations, in accordance to type of merchandise and goods. Maintains order of all donations, based on system and layout of Thrift Shop. Disposes of unacceptable or unusable items in the appropriate manner. Handles merchandise properly so that it can be displayed and sold to customers. Other duties as assigned, including bank runs.

Development: Participates with Thrift Shop Manager in identifying learning needs. When learning needs are identified, participates in training and development activities. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department

Organizational knowledge: Works effectively within and between departments. Participates in departmental projects. Participates in interdepartmental activities when asked. Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions.
