Job Summary

Accesses and analyzes data and prepares statistical reports for use in decision-making. Works with office staff, faculty, administration, and college staff to meet college's needs regarding the evaluation of programs and services. Coordinates projects including national and local surveys and course evaluations. Designs and develops data dashboards. Develops summary reports, charts, and graphs on assigned projects, maintains department website, performs office support functions and other related tasks, develops and maintains college trend reports, performs related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

25% - Uses Tableau software to create data dashboards for the college and Maricopa District

25% - Accesses data from data warehouse and other sources; creates charts, graphs, and tables to summarize data for requestors

15% - Performs data analysis using descriptive statistics and some inferential statistics; manage campus and national survey project

15% - Develops surveys and evaluations; uses web-based software to publish surveys; provides reports summarizing results

10% - Direct the work of temporary and student workers; helps to maintain office website; communicates with faculty, staff, and administration about research needs

10% - Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a reginally accredited instiution in business administration, business statistics, or directly related field and one year of experience in researching and collecting data, coordinating and compiling records and information, and preparing reports.


Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, business statistics, or directly related field and three years of experience in researching and collecting data, coordinating and compiling records and information, and preparing reports.


An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Tableau software or other software used for making dashboards
One or more years of social/behavioral science, natural science, or institutional research
Experience with Brio/Hyperion or other software used to access data in data warehouses
Experience working with relational databases, including use of SQL.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) in a professional environment
Experience working with SPSS, SAS, R, or other statistical software
Effective writing skills, including English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as demonstrated in a cover letter
Special Working Conditions

Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate’s own expense
May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
