This UAS Project Manager will direct the development and demonstration of a variety of unmanned system and autonomy activities, lead growth initiatives, manage Research & Development projects, develop capability concepts and solutions that solve challenging customer needs and promote advanced technology offerings for the business.
This position requires experience in Project Management leadership functions centered on conceiving, developing and demonstrating technologies in lab and operational environments. and creating and advancing technical and business growth concepts. The primary focus of the projects will be on small UAS and autonomy.
In addition, as the UAS Project Manager, you will:
Have accountability for project, program, and broad company objectives
Manage UAS aircraft configurations, systems selection and integration and flight operations
Assess government furnished capabilities, industry partnerships, and future aircraft systems and ground control / interface systems
Lead discussions about project needs, new capabilities, customer needs and the future of the business requiring frequent and thorough interaction with other functions and our customers
Manage product development programs and research and development projects
Cost Performance Objectives
and Customer Rating Performance
Develop and present project plans, technical roadmaps, business opportunities, proposals, risks and make recommendations to senior business leaders within the technical space and to our customers
Lead complex planning and negotiations requiring the involvement of many stakeholders both internal and on the customer side
Develop leading edge solutions for complex customer problems
Grow the business via robust internal and external customer engagements and the uncovering of new opportunities for our current and future products and capabilities
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field of study from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Management working DoD programs and/or 4 years of experience serving in the U.S. military in project leadership positions
Group 1 to Group 3 small UAS military operational and/or engineering experience (Including Military UAS systems knowledge and experience)
DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to be cleared to higher levels in a timely manner as required
Ability to travel domestically up to 35%
Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with the proven ability to be nimble and operate in a highly dynamic environment
Proven ability to proactively lead and drive teams to achieve success
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Operational UAS experience – in particular small UAS (Group 1-3)
Technical aptitude in software, hardware and systems engineering
Developed critical thinking skills to resolve and manage complex issues
Demonstrated ability leading teams to successful outcomes in a matrixed organization
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to achieve business growth
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
DoD acquisition, S&T and/or military flight experience
Program Management Professional certification
