JOB TITLE: Front Desk ReceptionistDEPARTMENT: Century-Airport PediatricsREPORTS TO: Office Manager/Front Desk CoordinatorFLSA STATUS: HourlyAPPROVAL DATE: 8/7/15

SUMMARY The Front Desk Receptionist efficiently handles a variety of tasks that assist in running the Front Desk Reception area while courteously attending to the immediate questions and needs of our patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Opens and closes front desk daily
  • Greets patients pleasantly and courteously
  • Collects patient data and inputs patient information into AltaPoint accurately
  • Makes new patient charts
  • Answers callers pleasantly and professionally
  • Handles cash flow
  • Completes and balances daily logs (well/sick)
  • Files medical records/reports/documents/patient information in patient charts
  • Copies medical records for Release of Information
  • Abides by and assists all patients regarding HIPAA regulations
  • Assists in identifying seriously ill patients so that they are taken care of and to communicate with Triage nurse and providers
  • Performs all other functions of Front Desk when supervisor delegates
  • Keeps full communication with all front desk staff and providers
  • Directs patients to exam rooms and assists nurses/providers as necessary
  • Responsibilities for quality improvement initiatives

  • OTHER JOB DUTIES- Assists with all facets of the day-to-day administrative operations of the practice: assists with monthly meetings, monitors all monies from insurances. Schedules, contracts and policies and procedure. Assists physicians, NPs, M.A.s and front desk associates when needed. Monitors office flow and processes.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma, 2 yr. degree/ certification preferred and or comparable work history
