About the job:
We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with the company’s contracts, with a primary focus on helping review commercial real estate lease agreements and related documents. In addition, you will assist with the review of services contracts/agreements, including those related to procurement, store design and construction, technology, and marketing.
What you’ll do:

Assist in the preparation, review, and facilitation of necessary legal documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with relevant laws, regulations, company policies, and commercial interests.

Assist in the negotiation of real estate contract terms, focusing on legal implications and risk mitigation.

Collaborate with Company leaders to address situations with elevated legal exposure or risk. Consider the overall business risk tolerance in the context of risk management strategies and actions.

Work alongside outside counsel, real estate agents/consultants, retail property managers, and other stakeholders to clarify lease/contract terms and finalize transactions.

Partner with internal stakeholders and external service provider(s) in the determination and confirmation of requisite recurring lease/contract payments and reporting.

Conduct research and stay informed about applicable laws, regulations, and industry trends that could impact the company from a legal standpoint.

Maintain current contract records, ensuring proper documentation, filing, and record-keeping in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

What you’ll bring:

Bachelor’s degree with a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program

A minimum of 5+ years as a paralegal specializing in commercial real estate contracts and documentation.

Retail industry experience required.

Strong understanding of contract and real estate lease agreements, including familiarity with relevant retail leasing laws and regulations.

Proficiency in contract evaluation, negotiation, and general business understanding.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating intricate legal concepts clearly and succinctly.

Proficiency in legal research and the ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and precedents.

Strong organization and project-management skills.

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and drive challenging matters to completion.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to distill complex information.

Actual starting pay for this role is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, relevant skills, education, and geographic location.
