Overview
The Benefit Administrator is responsible for providing benefits administration support within a client’s organization. This position will act as an extension of the client’s Human Resources department. The Benefits Administrator handles full benefits administration, maintains employee personnel files and executes new hire orientation. He or she will serve as the company’s subject matter expert in regard to benefit platforms, assisting in answering employee questions, as needed.

Responsibilities
EXECUTION OF CLIENT SERVICE

Manages the implementation of new benefit programs such as medical, dental, and vision, life and AD&D, part time benefits, voluntary benefits and COBRA, conducting new hire and benefit orientation and leading the open enrollment process annually
Verifies calculations of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs, resolving administrative problems with carrier representatives as needed
Completes audits regularly, ensuring accuracy of benefit-related information contained within the HRIS system
Conducts and reports due diligence in regard to employee benefits during the acquisition process
Assists in processing claims for Life and AD&D, STD, and LTD
Maintains employee personnel files, ensuring consistency, compliance and confidentiality
Partners with the payroll department to ensure that benefit deductions are accurately deducted, resolving issues, as needed
Processes plan changes, as needed or requested by the client, checking for consistency and documenting in the appropriate system
Works with internal departments to ensure cohesiveness and timeliness of service execution
Manages time effectively to prioritize workload, client service requests and service parameters on business processes

DATA AND PROCESS INTEGRITY

Consistently follows client service workflows and appropriately engages internal resources such as process support team, procedure manuals and reporting tools to ensure efficiency and accuracy of execution
Accurately maintains complete client files including the clear documentation of account detail in agency management systems including policy information, activities, attachments and correspondence
Achieves desired levels of data completeness and process integrity by consistently meeting activity timelines, quality metrics and goals
Builds personalized client relationships through demonstrated ownership of the service plan and multiple channels of communication such as phone, email and in-person meetings
Leverages insurance knowledge and communication skills to explain coverage terms, program options and other items to clients as needed

PEER RELATIONSHIPS

Provides feedback and shares information at team meetings
Participates in ongoing scheduled meetings with service team
Develops successful and effective working relationships with client’s human resources team as well as Producers, Account Executives, Account Managers, service team members, managers, carriers and members of other departments
Communicates effectively with Account Managers and provides timely and complete information to allow them to effectively manage service execution
Qualifications

REQUIRED:
3+ years employee benefits experience
Upon hire, Producers License for Life/Health

PREFERRED:
BS/BA in Business, Insurance or related field
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite
