We are seeking to hire an Assistant Controller to work in our El Segundo location. This position will oversee part of the accounting team, and report directly to our Controller.
Duties and responsibilities:
Oversee Corporate Accounting team
Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, financial statements, bank compliance and annual audits,
Prepare complex journal entries
Perform variance analysis for balance sheet and income statement and other various statistical analysis
Drive monthly cost center review meetings with department managers
Review account reconciliations
Own finance master data maintenance in SAP (GL accounts, cost centers, etc..)
Coordinate and facilitate adoption of new accounting guidance
Identify and drive & cost saving opportunities
Responsible for internal controls and segregation of duties for the accounting group (AP, Payroll, AR, Corporate accounting and Operation accounting)
Lead process improvement efforts and play a key role in financial systems implementations
Lead and drive annual 401k audit
Team development and training
Support Controller on ad hoc projects
Assist in the administration of banking systems
This individual will possess the following qualifications and requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
CPA certification Solid knowledge of US GAAP
Proven ability to work with SAP (FI-CO, MM, BI, Hana)
Advanced Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, data tables), PowerPivot and Power BI
Experience in internal control and segregation of duties management. Sarbanes Oxley experience strongly preferred.
Well organized and ability to prioritize
10+ years of experience is required with at least 4 years in a leadership role
Strong analytical skills
MBA are a plus
Knowledge of German GAAP is a plus
Hand on experience with Tableau is a plus
Public accounting experience is highly preferred
Strong work ethic and dedication to deadlines
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong desire to train and build skillsets of others
