CASA Volunteers needed to advocate for children in foster care!

CASA Paulding County - Acworth, GA

Be the voice of a child in foster care! We will be conducting our new volunteer training beginning in August and we would like you to join us. Upon completion of the training, there will be a swearing-in ceremony with the Juvenile Court Judge.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in juvenile court. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, pass a criminal background check, complete an application and be interviewed by CASA staff.

Every day in Georgia, 33 children are the victims of abuse or neglect. On any given day, about 8,000 children are in foster care in Georgia. These children are in need of CASA volunteers. The CASA volunteer gathers information about the child’s situation, attends court proceedings and makes a recommendation to the judge so that the judge has the information to make a decision about the child’s future. A CASA volunteer protects a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the safe embrace of a loving family.
