SUMMARY Repairs, rents, or sells ice skates and equipment at ice skating rink by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
Removes skate blade from shoe, places it in guide frame, and sharpens blade on grinding wheel.
Drills holes in shoe and bolts blade to shoe.
Cleans skates with cloth or buffing tool and places them on shelf according to size.
Issues skates to patrons and collects ticket or money for rental.
Sells merchandise such as skates, skate guards, and skating apparel.
Runs clock for tournaments.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could be directly related or unrelated to original position.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training.
Ability to read & comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, & memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one & small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic computer skills.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to; wet or humid conditions; working near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
