Job Summary:
The associate vice president and dean of students (AVP/Dean) is a strategic partner in fostering student transformation and academic success by supporting students to fully realize their potential goals. As an inspirational hands-on leader, the AVP/Dean directs a team of student-facing units responsible for Community Standards and Care, Housing and Residential Engagement, Military and Veteran Services, and Student Engagement and Leadership. The AVP/Dean is responsible for ensuring co-curricular learning through operational best practices, planning and assessment. Working collaboratively with schools, colleges, and administrative units across the university, the AVP/Dean promotes a culture of engagement and belonging.

Collaborate with the vice president and the Student Affairs leadership team to develop strategic and operational goals that create and maintain an inclusive, welcoming campus environment; encourage a sense of community; and positively impact student satisfaction and persistence.

Provide institutional and divisional leadership in implementing strategies that reflect Regis University's mission and foster an appreciation of the University's traditions and Jesuit, Catholic identity.

Lead a professional staff, measuring and evaluating the success of all services within the Dean of Students Office, Community Standards and Care, Housing and Residential Engagement, Military and Veteran Services, and Student Engagement and Leadership. Oversee the development and implementation of department working procedures, budgets, policies, and goals.

Establish and maintain relationships with all Student Affairs departments as well as relevant university and external constituents, promoting student leadership and co-curricular learning and leveraging available resources to provide exceptional support and services to all students.

Know and be present to students; serve as an advocate for students; recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of students; provide student support on issues related to student services, institution policies and department processes.
- Educate the University community on student affairs programming and services in addressing student needs, trends and issues. Prepare and present annual reports.

Chair or co-chair institution's cross-divisional teams and committees as assigned, including the following: Bias Incident Response Team, Starting Out at Regis (SOAR) and Financial Distress Committee

Serve as Risk Owner as assigned by Risk Management Steering Committee.

Act on the vice president's behalf in his/her absence.

Perform other duties and responsibilities in service of the University mission as designated by the vice president.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
-
Master's degree in college student personnel administration, higher education administration, or a similar field from an accredited institution of higher education. Doctorate degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of seven years of supervisory experience with documented progressively responsible record of administrative leadership across multiple functions/departments in Student Affairs.
- Experience supporting residential, commuter, and online students necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing Student Affairs best practices.
- An understanding of and appreciation for student development in a Jesuit Catholic context and a passion for working with students as a highly visible campus leader is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to assess learning outcomes and evaluate programs, set strategic priorities, develop staff and build productive and collaborative working relationships.
- Evidence of both commitment to and substantive experience with advancing diversity, equity and inclusion required; a demonstrated interest and/or ability to effectively support HSI and/or MSI initiatives a plus.

Pay Rate:
