Production Scientist (Cloning Enzymes)

New England Biolabs (NEB) is inviting applicants for the position of Production Scientist. In close collaboration with the members of the Cloning Enzymes Group, the individual in this position will be primarily responsible for supporting the manufacturing of both existing and new cloning products.

Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare formulations of cloning products and related reagents.
Perform standard contamination QC protocols and assist in the testing of new QC assays.
Track and maintain stocked inventory of standard over the counter (OTC) products.
Coordinate and fulfill OEM/Bulk custom orders.
Adhere to protocols and maintain proper documentation.
Assist customers with technical inquiries about cloning products.
Work in collaboration with Research and Applications & Product Development to develop new products for commercialization.

Qualifications/ Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field; advance degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the life science industry.
Knowledge of nucleic acid purification, cloning enzymes and experience with standard cloning applications (i.e. DNA cloning, gene assembly).
Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, including good lab notebook practices.
Proven “good hands” at the bench and an ability to perform careful and consistent experiments.
