Summary: The Cloud Solutions Architect Manager is responsible for managing a team of highly technical Solutions Architects that are tasked with achieving the transformational and technical win by creating a foundation built on the value of the solutions we sell, and the services and expertise we offer.
Scope/Level of Decision Making: This is an exempt position operating under limited decision-making and supervision. Position performs a variety of assigned activities, referring more complex issues to the manager
Lead, mentor, recruit and develop the presales Cloud Solutions Architect team.
Create and maintain a player-coach leadership model.
Co-lead strategic direction of the cloud technical presales process.
Create and refine cloud presales process(s) to ensure all Solution Architects are creating the technical win quickly.
Technical escalation point for all cloud pre-sales activities.
Continually build and maintain relationships with our partners and customers.
Continually build and maintain relationships with our sales and professional services team.
Employee development, including but not limited to, reviews, staffing, forecasting, and training.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Cloud Solutions Architect team’s metrics.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Cloud Solutions Architect team's utilization and workload(s).
Lead strategic cloud discovery sessions to help customers understand the value of cloud platforms and Onix Services and how to position them within their organization.
Proactively help customers address all technical issues that may arise throughout the entire pre-sales cycle.
Ability to facilitate demonstrations, proof of concepts, and public-facing presentations.
Assist account manager with technical discovery and responsible for all technical scoping activities during the creation of the Statement of Work.
Ability to frequently travel throughout the United States and Canada. Up to 50%.
Handle any customer or employee escalations as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
Must have a strong understanding of architecting solutions in the cloud (AWS/GCP).
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting multiple initiatives and deadlines at the same time.
Must have the ability to coach and provide direction for unique situations, including providing solutions to resolve escalated issues.
Ability to act as a Cloud Solutions Architect when needed to run an end to end cloud presales opportunities.
Must be a self-starter capable of working independently.
An attitude of willingness/eagerness to learn is essential.
Able to expertly convey ideas and concepts to others.
Must be able to work collaboratively with cloud account managers to provide solutions that address a customer’s business outcomes.
Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to design solutions not immediately apparent.
Customer-oriented and shows a bias for action.
Highly adaptable with the ability to learn new technologies quickly without direct oversight.
Creative problem-solving skills and a drive to solve difficult issues.
Ability to stay positive and motivated while under pressure.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
Provide on-time, well-executed work that leads to excellent customer satisfaction.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Google (GCP) or AWS Certifications.
Previous pre-sales technical management experience.
Management experience of 5 or more years in a remote employee work environment.
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Travel Expectations: 25-50% within the United States and Canada
