Architect (AIA Level 1 or 2) with Historic Preservation Experience

Antenora Architects of Austin, TX is a creative, award-winning collaboration of architects, designers, preservationists and planners. We are looking to add a creative, experienced and energetic person for new opening for a Project Designer/Architect 1 position.

The ideal candidate would have (at a minimum) the following talents, abilities and characteristics:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in an architecture firm practicing in commercial, residential and hospitality architecture and interior architecture (AIA Architect 1 level or better)
  • A strong and varied design portfolio of work with previous firms.
  • Training and project experience with Historic Preservation, Renovation and Adaptive Re-use.
  • Training and project experience with Planning and Programming.
  • Have performed site surveys and field measurements towards the creation of 2D and 3D as-builts in BIM or AutoCAD.
  • Have working knowledge and experience in Revit and AutoCad.
  • Working knowledge and experience in AutoCad a definite plus.
  • Have a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an US/UK/Canada accredited school of architecture.
  • Licensed or on a soon-to-be-licensure track is preferred.
  • Looking to join a firm to grow into a position of leadership or ownership.
  • Pleasant and engaging personality, good with people and can represent the firm in multiple roles and circumstances.
  • Interested in an opportunity to be a “Seller/Doer” to assist in the growth, marketing and business development of the firm.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Principals of the firm to design, manage and produce architectural projects.
  • Attend meetings with clients and help in the creation of project proposals and contracts
  • Attend site meetings and provide construction phase services.
  • Assist in the completion of RFQ/RFP responses for new work.
  • Assist in the growth, marketing and business development of the firm.
  • Assist in the daily operations and management of the firm.

Software Masteries:

  • Revit
  • Sketchup (or other modeling software)
  • MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint (or Keynote), Excel

Software Proficiencies:

  • AutoCAD
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator,)
  • MS Project or other project scheduling software
  • Understanding of Laser Scanning, point cloud data and REVIT integration of same.
