The mission of the People Insights and Innovation team is to enable Nestle USA to translate people-related data into insights & action and make data-driven business decisions that help the organization win through people. More specifically, the team is responsible for the development of metrics, data collection methodologies, data analysis and reporting to assist in decision making, goal setting, and evaluation of HR programs.
This position supports the HR Analytics team and is entrusted with access to confidential personnel data. As a member of HR Analytics, the Data Analyst is responsible for:
Pulling and compiling data from multiple sources including SAP (Business Objects) to be used in analyses of people-related data
Analyzing and deriving meaning from people-related data to help leaders make informed business decisions
Conducting data quality checks to ensure accuracy
Administering surveys using internal software (Qualtrics)
Fulfilling HR customers’ ad-hoc report requests
Supporting key HR Analytics team projects and process improvement initiatives
Fill ad-hoc reporting requests received through the HR Analytics request queue. Follow up with HR customers to ensure that deliverables meet their needs and to coach them on using data to answer business questions. Data quality checks for the main HR data sets. Document specifications of new reports and report changes.
Apply quantitative techniques to derive meaning from HR data. Collaborate with other HR Analytics team members in data quality activities. Communicate analysis results in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences. Compare Nestlé USA HR metrics against internal and external benchmarks. Work to revise data/metric collection methods to improve data accuracy and relevance. Participate in the development of new data sources and collection methods.
Play a key role in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives. Participate in the design and execution of process improvement initiatives that may involve developing new or upgrading existing technology solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Direct supervision given by Director, People Insights and Innovation
Position will guide and advise HR business partners, peers and other members of the HR team.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics (or related field) is required.
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, Marketing, Marketing Research, Economics, Statistics, Business Statistics, and Mathematics is preferred, but not required.
Experience with one or more of the following preferred: Business Analytics, Data Mining for Business, Business Analytics for Managers, Business Performance & Risk Management and Analytics
Strong mathematical and analytical skills with proven attention to detail.
Ability to use statistics to understand data and make informed decisions.
Solid understanding of HR including service, support and technical inquiries is preferred.
Work experience as an analyst or in a similar position preferred
Experience taking complex data and translating it into a simple and logical story, using data manipulation, representation and transformation.
Strong expertise with basic office software applications required (Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access).
Experience with the following programs a plus: Access, Qualtrics, R, Visual Basic –VB Script, Business Objects.
Experience analyzing data for human resources a plus.
Workforce planning knowledge and experience a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, including an aptitude for helping and coaching others, and the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels.

The ability to use data effectively relating multiple data bases.
