Merchant offers at Discover® Global Network is key in scaling our partnership opportunities with merchants globally and delivering incremental value to our issuers and their cardmembers. The Principal, Content Marketing & Communications will work within the International Marketing team and manage the overall strategy surrounding the development and execution of merchant offer sourcing. Leading a cross-functional group, this team member will analyze and manage current offer strategies, investigate both third party and internal opportunities, and implement new solutions across the DGN universe. This individual will use insights from our unique business model of issuer and merchant to build marketing relationships that impact the merchant’s growth, while at the same time delivering value added offers that help our issuers’ cardmembers.
Manages and executes the overarching messaging strategy and related content strategy, calendar, and assets ensuring overall alignment of the brand story. Responsible for delivering executive-level communications for key events and speaking engagements.
Lead cross-functional team across Payments to develop overall offer sourcing strategy including redemption type, tracking methodologies, offer analysis, current and future partner analysis and more
Lead implementation of new offer providers and strategies through partnerships with external vendors and internal business partners including but not limited to Global Network Analytics, Operations, Business Technology, Global Marketing, Product and more
Management of DGN’s offers program. Secure offers from global merchant base that can be delivered in cross channel marketing environment.
Management of 3rd party partners – both existing and new to refine and develop new methodologies around tracking using transactional data, payment reconciliation, and emerging offer opportunities
Evaluates and communicates regularly about the business, making recommendations, and modifications accordingly.
Liaises with internal and external business partners to share best practices.
Leverages research and tools to create custom programs, marketing materials, and proposals for acquirers, large merchants, and issuers to expand the business.
Builds programs to motivate our channel partners to prioritize acceptance and issuance of our cards in assigned markets.
Serves as a marketing lead for internal and external business partners in the development and implementation of strategies for achieving merchant acceptance and growing issuance.
Creates tools and programs to grow quality merchant acceptance and drive increased sales volume to newly accepting merchants and markets.
Pursues these objectives while making prudent budget decisions and maximizing effectiveness.
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Sciences, Business, Technology, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
6+ years of experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Integrated Marketing, Advertising, Sales, Customer Service, or related field
In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Integrated Marketing, Advertising, Sales, Customer Service, or related field
