Assist the Executive Director in managing the strategic development, growth and retention, and day-to-day operations of the activities related to business development for the Center for Transforming Healthcare’s (CTH) high reliability products and services. The AD of Business Development is responsible for increasing Center awareness and sales, and account management. Serves as key contact for healthcare organizations pursuing their high reliability journey. Identify new customers and assist in the decision process to pursue high reliability partnerships, products and services. Serve as a lead business manager and administrator for the CTH contact management/customer relationship management database as assigned.


Focus sales efforts by pro-actively identifying potential target audiences, generating leads, conducting business research, meaningfully engaging key leadership contacts in the sales process.
Initiates contact and follow-up with organizations interested in high reliability products and services
Responds to organizations inquiries about Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare high reliability products and services.
Actively contributes to the successful achievement of CTH Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through effective CTH team involvement, proactive communication and collaboration.
Maintains/manages assigned leads and prospects within the Center’s contact management/sales database. Ability to develop, analyze and respond to data reports within the contact management/sales database.
Identifies opportunities, generate proposals, coordinate, prepare and deliver webinars, workshops, national and state presentations and events.
Arranges, plans, and conducts external customer development meetings.
Collaboratively works with other Joint Commission departments and staff to respond to customer inquiries and needs.
Promotes Center’s high reliability products and services; serves as CTH representative at conventions, national meetings, and other external activities.
Participates in the identification, design, and development of CTH products and services as assigned.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical, healthcare administration, business administration, other relevant field Master’s degree preferred
At least 5 years progressive experience in the health care industry required (i.e.: hospital, pharmaceutical, vendor to health care providers.)
At least 5 years proven track record in business development.
Familiarity with high reliability and process improvement concepts (Six Sigma, Change Management), methods and tools strongly required. Must complete training and certify as a Change Agent within 24 months of hire.
Ability to develop relationships and encourage influencer organizations (e.g. Federal government agencies, State Agencies) healthcare customers and health system customers to consider and/or continue to use CTH’s high reliability products and services and to extend CTH opportunities to new organizations.
Ability to track and coordinate customer contacts via SalesForce. Contribute to results reporting tracking based on customer contacts.
Previous experience using PowerPoint to create client facing slide decks.
Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to produce proposals, reports, and presentations.
Microsoft Office Suite including high level proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Anticipated National travel requirements (up to 50%)
