The Cedar Point HR Manager, reporting to the Park VP of HR, plans, develops, implements and administers Park's human resources function ensuring day-to-day HR operations are performed successfully. Communicates to full-time, part-time and seasonal associates and ensures compliance with all federal and state employment laws as well as with company policies and procedures. Achieve financial goals by effective management of staffing and labor controls. Performs related supervisory and professional work as required.
Bachelor’s Degree (4 year College University) in Human Resources management or related field.
5 - 7 Years Related Experience in Human Resources, the theme park, hospitality, entertainment or travel industry, or a combination of both.
Demonstrated familiarity with federal, state and local labor laws, including EEO, medical and religious accommodations, FMLA and minor labor laws
Advanced written and oral communication skills, as well as, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar
Strong time and project management skills and experience
A high level of organizational and communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency with computers, including applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to speak in front of groups and facilitate presentations and trainings.
Able and willing to travel (domestically and internationally) for recruiting quality applicants.
Demonstrated ability to analyze recruitment data and present relevant information to key stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and supervise others
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver against set goals
Strong business and financial acumen, understanding fiscal responsibility, annual P&L management and budgets

Manage all aspects of the Human Resources employment administration process to include, but not limited to, applicant tracking, paperwork processing, document/record retention, benefits administration and payroll. Ensures adequate and friendly service is provided to applicants, associates and all Human Resources guests.
Business Partner on all recruiting, staffing and onboarding processes. Supports appropriate staffing levels during all phases of the park's operation.
Communicates with associates at all levels of the Company and key external contacts including vendors, other business contacts, regulatory agencies and local, state or federal government offices. Utilizes various formats of communication including verbal, written and statistical data.
Oversees processes to ensure consistent execution of administrative responsibilities for HRIS systems, including payroll, scheduling, unemployment claims including processing and report writing, as required.
Assists in the development and implementation of operating budget for areas of responsibility. Ensures budgeting guidelines are met; prioritizes expenditures to stay within budget. Make overall adjustments to meet Division goals.
Provide training and direction to line associates, coach and counsel associates to improve performance.
Delegates work assignments and motivate staff to achieve optimum job performance through positive feedback and personal example.
Supports all associate wellness and cultural needs including reasonable job accommodations for sincerely held beliefs and for an employee's verified claim of disability.
Partners with Division Teams on employee relations concerns such as workplace and housing concerns and questions, as well as harassment and discrimination claims. Receives initial employee complaint reports, conducts investigations and makes recommendations, ensuring accountability and compassion for all associates. Accurately and thoroughly documents all investigations. Liaise with Park security and law enforcement in any criminal matters.
Serves as Human Resources Manager On-Duty as scheduled with responsibilities for conducting employment investigations, coaching managers and Divisional leaders.
Ensures consistent execution of all Cedar Point policies, procedures and guidelines.
Initiates and owns all HR special projects in accordance with prioritized business needs.
Ensures execution of all employment practices and decisions are in full compliance with Federal, State, and Local Laws.
Acts to support growth and development for all associates. Supports the creation and facilitation of Leadership training and all career development.
Willing to ensure availability based on seasonal business needs and park schedule, which will include working some nights, weekends and holidays.
Sets the standard of integrity and execution related to all Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
