JOB TITLE: Programmer/Analyst

REPORTS TO: VPAA @ Connors; IT Director @ NEO


STATUS: Full time

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-month continuing position

JOB OVERVIEW: This position will be a joint position with the employee having responsibilities to both Connors State College and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. This employee will design, test, and document programs that will be used to extract and organize data. This data will then be used for departments such as admissions, accounting, human resources, financial aid, registrar, business office, etc. This data will also be used for reporting purposes to both state and federal entities.


  • Design, test, and document programs for all campus departments, state and federal entities, and other necessary reporting needs
  • Evaluate and prioritize user requests for new and/or modified programs and respond to requests with programs that produce desired results in a timely manner
  • Create batch transactions/flat files for overnight processing
  • Create flat files for uploading to external sites utilizing FTP and SFTP
  • Provide ongoing database support for campus departments
  • Maintain and validate data security
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • In depth knowledge of SQL, MS Access and Excel, and a variety of programming languages such as PHP, C, C++, VB, Java, etc. for use in massaging and organizing data
  • Flat file creation and conversion to other formats such as delimited and fixed-width formats
  • Effective verbal, written, and technical communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies
  • Statistical analysis, multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem solving, and analytical skills are a necessity
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and work concurrently on multiple programs in different stages is a must
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming preferred
  • Two (2) years’ documented experience with a variety of programming languages


  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Travel will be required


Must be flexible to physically work at both NEO and CSC when needed. Home location may be commensurate with applicant(s) residence location. Successful applicant could base out of Tulsa, Stillwater, Muskogee area or the Miami area.
