Location: Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, AZ
O’Gara Training and Services, LLC needs several Part Time On Call (PTOC) Range Safety Officers to support the U.S. Air Force. The 68th Rescue Squadron (68 RQS) is the Air Force’s Guardian Angel Formal Training Unit (FTU). Guardian Angel is comprised of Combat Rescue Officers (CRO), Pararescuemen (PJ), and Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) specialists. Guardian Angel (GA) provides support to Geographic Combatant Commanders’ (GCC) Personnel Recovery (PR), Combat Search & Rescue (CSAR), Global Precision Strike and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Special Operations requirements. Guardian Angel also provides direct support to the President of the United States, Secretary of Defense, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) manned spaceflight missions. Specialized education and training is required to develop qualified PJ/CROs to ensure mission success.
Has operational familiarity/training with respect to operating live fire shooting ranges in the last ten (10) years. Has knowledge of the safety associated with firing pistol and rifles in a controlled environment.
The Range Safety Officer will ensure all courses of fire are conducted IAW CFETP Section 5.2, Combat Marksmanship.
Travel up to 10% of the work year, both domestically and internationally is possible.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Is capable of receiving Range Safety Officer training by government personnel.
At least two (2) years’ experience coaching marksmanship or previous Range Master or Range Safety Officer experience in the U.S. military.
BASIC SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Successfully complete a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) to obtain DoD CAC, Installation Access, and credentials
Excellent communication skills
Ability to accommodate flexible working hours, in order to support government needs
Agrees to participate in pre-employment and random and or post-mishap drug testing
