Viterbo University is accepting applications for a Student Engagement Coordinator. This is 12 month, full time, exempt position. This is a one year appointment with the potential for continuing appointment.
The Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for a comprehensive and balanced schedule of campus activities for all students, coordination of major campus programming in conjunction with the Student Activities Board (SAB), and the registration and development of Viterbo student organizations.
Reports to: Director of Student Life and Orientation
Coordinates, promotes, attends and supervises a comprehensive and balanced array of annual activities for all undergraduate students commuters, residents, non-traditional students, international students, and special populations. Events include, but are not limited to social, recreational and education activities, Welcome Weeks, Family Day, Student Recognition Ceremony, and Global Initiatives Week.
Coordinates, promotes, and supervises Weekends at VU weekend activities to include activities every Friday and Saturday during the fall and spring semesters (when Viterbo is not on break). Ensures on-campus weekend activity each weekend during the academic year.
Supervises student employees working with Weekends at VU.
Serves as advisor to the Student Activities Board (SAB). Attends SAB meetings and activities. Assists in coordination of SAB activities including, but not limited to Courtyard Carni, Halloween Week, and Homecoming.
STUDENT ORGANIZATION REGISTRATION AND DEVELOPMENT
Registers, approves, and provides services and consultation to student organization members and advisors. Maintain current and accurate records of student organizations, club officers and other student leaders.
Assists student organization members in understanding of procedures including, but not limited to posting policy, provision of food and beverage policy, room reservations, and travel policy. Develop and maintain proactive risk management approach to activities and trips.
Plans the Student Leadership Recognition Banquet.
Coordinates (in conjunction with Recreational Sports and Leadership) Club Roundtable discussions and monthly newsletter/Moodle communications for student organizations during the fall and spring semesters.
Reviews all student group contracts for speakers, entertainers, etc. Submits all contracts to the Vice President for Student Affairs to sign.
Maintains Student Engagement/Campus Activities and Student Life social media
Develops and maintains a Student Engagement/Campus Activities web presence, including online club handbook, listing of clubs, officers and advisors, etc.
Develops and administers instruments to assess outcomes and to evaluate growth and satisfaction. Conducts research, benchmarking and evaluation as necessary.
Prepares goals, policies and departmental budget in conjunction with the Director of Student Life and Orientation.
Coordinates and reviews contracts for speakers, entertainers, etc. Submits all contracts to the Vice President of Student Affairs to sign.
Maintain complete, accurate and updated records.
Keeps abreast of current developments in college and university student activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and experience in event coordination required. Master's degree in student affairs, higher education or a related field preferred, but not required.
Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
Other requirements include: valid driver's license, computer proficiency, ability to be present for some evening and weekend/evening responsibilities.
