Your Role
As a Gensler Project Accountant, you will be responsible for financial account management and analysis for the firm’s projects and business practices. You will be successful because you are highly organized and passionate about ensuring the fiscal health of assigned projects throughout the entire project life cycle, from project due diligence through client invoicing and collections. Join a team of highly creative, collaborative colleagues and partner with Gensler project managers to ensure our projects are not only beautiful, but financially sound.
What You Will Do

Work closely with your internal clients - Project Managers and Studio Directors- to ensure accurate and consistent billing and financial reporting at the project and studio levels.

Proactively develop new ideas and solutions to improve financial management.

Review project work plans, budgets, and staffing plans for fee alignment.

Maintain organized project contract files, understand contract terms as they relate to fee management.

Assist Project Managers in performing project start-up due diligence and following Firm best practices throughout project life cycles.

Provide accurate invoices to clients per contract terms; coordinate consultant invoices and payments per contract terms.

Regularly review project labor and expense charges with project managers for accuracy and appropriateness.

Forecast actual vs. budget spending and analyze projects to provide actionable insight to project and office leadership.

Monitor studio accounts receivable and assist project managers with collection efforts.

Monitor, analyze, and report on variety of metrics at the studio level to ensure healthy business practices; become the studio leader for matters related to finance.

Provide training to project managers regarding financial maintenance of projects
Your Qualifications

Accounting or business administration degree

A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a professional services environment, preferably with an architecture or design firm.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

A self-starter and also a great team player.

Not just comfortable with technology, but seeks ways to achieve better results through new technologies and processes.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage different personality types.

Works well under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Excel, prior experience with Deltek Vision software preferred.

Excellent references who speak to the quality of your work and your personal contributions to business performance and organizational culture.
