John Bean Technologies Corporation and its predecessor companies have a long history of technical innovation. JBT traces its roots to 1884 when inventor John Bean developed a new type of spray pump to combat San Jose scale in California's orchards.

Today, JBT Corporation’s AeroTech Division is a world leader in the supply of airport equipment and services focused on the future. At our Orlando, Florida facility we manufacture airport ground support equipment, including aircraft deicers, aircraft tow tractors, cargo loaders and transporters.

The Inventory Analyst reports within the Materials Management Department. The Inventory Analyst is responsible for collaborating with cross functional teams including business planning, master scheduling, production line managers, warehouse supervisor, material planners, procurement, sourcing, finance, the plant manager, and others to effectively manage site inventory and inventory reporting. The role is focused on maximizing inventory investment returns, improving planning efficiency through improved analytical toolsets and reports, and driving margin improvement through lean initiatives.

Specific duties include:
Develops and maintains an inventory budget that balances the needs of the production schedule and company working capital goals
Establishes quarterly and year-end inventory targets by inventory category
Manages parts segmentations and supermarket calculations on defined time schedule to optimize inventory, procurement and on-time delivery of parts to the production floor
Develops the quarterly inventory estimates with clear explanations for variances to budget
Reports inventory on a monthly and quarterly basis and provide explanations where targets were unmet
Escalates critical inventory opportunities that are found immediately as needed to the Materials Manager
Sets inventory targets/goals and establish metrics to track progress throughout the year
Develops reporting tools for site materials team’s leadership to track inventory trends by product classification
Enhances designated RAW/WIP inventory reporting tools that measure and report Buffer Inventory, Cycle Stock / Working Inventory, Planned Excess Inventory, and Unplanned Excess Inventory
Involvement in the cycle counting process for determining inventory accuracy
Input into determining how best to package parts and/or present them to the production lines
Designs standard reports for plant part shortages and works with Corporate and Site teams to identify supply chain and operational improvement opportunities to prevent reoccurrence
Supports schedule change requests by analyzing potential part shortages and working with Purchasing & Production Planning to determine if expedite options exist
Develops and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement projects to improve systems, reporting and forecasting to ensure rapid business decisions as it relates to inventory management.
Manages ECN process to better utilize inventory and phase in new revisions
Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Statistics preferred.
Minimum of 3 years related supply chain planning and/or inventory management experience
APICS-CPIM Certification desired
Supply chain planning, exposure to multiple sites/practices and project management experience desirable
Demonstrated skills with ERP systems such as SAP (APO, SNP, ECC) experience is desirable. Syteline MRP (JBT’s system) experience highly desired
Strong and practical leader with proven track record of achievement in implementing change
Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking, ability to frame problems and opportunities using supporting data, problem solving and measuring impact
Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to lead change and influence without direct authority
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to share at all levels of the organization
Must be highly capable in Microsoft Office programs; specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
Report writing based from data warehouse system preferred
Use of BI tools such as Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, SAS, etc. is highly desired

Specialized Knowledge, Equipment, and Applications:
Understanding of financial principles

Individual must be self-guided, process driven and extremely good at working in a team environment.
Must possess the ability to understand the effect of certain actions throughout the production process (vendors, manufacturing, office etc.) while implementing the solutions, and how those actions are related.

Work Environment- Job will consist of 90% duties in an office environment with the remainder on the production floor working with materials or operations teams or supplier. Some travel to suppliers may be required, both domestic and internationally.

Physical Demands- Frequent sitting and operating computer. Exposure to high noise levels and an increased awareness of congested work spaces and the exposure to potentially hazardous work environments normally associated with heavy duty manufacturing activities. May be required to occasionally climb ladders. May be required to work on machines at heights other than ground level. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Supervisor Responsibilities- No Direct Reports. However, must possess ability to lead and facilitate teams and work with them to guide the decision making process.

Type of Supervision Position works under: (close, moderate, minimal) – moderate; Must be able to work under JBT processes and procedures and use critical thinking skills to understand and communicate the big picture.

Relationship Responsibilities- Daily interaction with supply chain, shop floor management and team members to drive projects focused on inventory optimization. Interact daily with other business functions including master scheduling / planning, purchasing, sourcing, design, cost accounting, and IT.
