All nurse practitioners (NPs) with CCHCS must have current California RN licensure and Nurse Practitioner Furnishing certificate with board certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner. To excel in this role, you must have knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical assessment of common health problems; causes, treatment, and prevention of communicable diseases, chronic diseases, mental illness, and other disabling conditions; and continuity of patient care with an eye towards quality health care management.
Additionally, you must have the ability to communicate effectively; prepare clear and concise reports; and instruct in the prevention of disease, good health practices, and the health care of an ill or injured patient.
